Treatment Protocols

  • How long does it last?
Semi permanent make up lasts anywhere between 18 months to 10 years. It can depend on your age and how well your skin takes the pigment. No two people are the same.
  • Is it painful?
I will take every precaution to reduce discomfort. Before the application, experienced practitioners numb the area and do not proceed until you feel comfortable. After the treatment, some clients feel a little discomfort and take a low dosage, common painkiller, which will do the job well for most people, and eliminate the pain. As an experienced practitioner, I will advise you on the best way to reduce discomfort for you. And, when you see the stunning results you do tend to quickly forget the procedure!
  • Are there any allergic or medical risks?
It is unusual for any adverse reactions to arise. However, a full medical history consultation and treatment plan will be completed before we start. You can then decide whether you feel comfortable going ahead with the treatment.
  • How long does this treatment last for?
Depending on the treatment you had there is a wide range of time that it can last for from 4 weeks to 1 year
  • What Does the Treatment Involve?
At first, the skin is cleaned and the numbing cream may be applied to decrease discomfort. For better results we use a collagen-stimulating product like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin-C serum or skin lightener for pigmentation during the procedure. A small handheld pen like device with a sterile, disposable tip with 12 tiny needles is then used to pierce the skin. Our needling pen’s multi-speed and adjustable needle depth allow needles to pierce the skin’s layer at 90 degrees and increase the absorption of products. After the treatment, soothing Vitamin-C serum or Hyaluronic acid are used to hydrate, heal and protect the skin. Learn more about iBeautify Mesotherapy treatments
  • What Will I Look like After the Treatment?
Most people will experience redness and mild swelling in a similar way as mild sunburn for 24-48 hours, and there may be a minimal pin-point bleeding and/or bruising. Within a week or two, you will notice that your skin is smoother and more radiant looking, but the full effects won’t be seen until a few months later.
  • What is the downtime after Meso PLUS treatment?
The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades away significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12 to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and to protect the skin with zinc based sunblock. The use of mineral makeup is recommended after the procedure.
  • What are the Benefits?
    • Dramatically increases the effectiveness and penetration of active ingredients in topical preparation. • Stimulates circulation and collagen production. • Medical grade titanium needles make it non-allergenic to human tissue. • Cost effective compared to other resurfacing procedures. • Can be performed on all skin types, including ethnic skin. • It can be used on all areas of the scalp, face, body including fragile skin like around eyes, mouth and neck.
  • How Does the Mesotherapy Effect the Skin?
    • It improves the skin texture and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. • Stimulates tissue regeneration. • Disfigures scars, especially acne scars can be improved when new collagen fibers elevate the depressed scar tissue with the periphery skin. • Reduces pore size. • Improves the appearance of stretch marks.
  • Is MesoPLUS Painful?
Prior to the treatment, numbing cream can be applied to minimize any discomfort.
  • Can MesoPLUS be Performed on Any Skin Color?
MesoPLUS is safe to use on all skin types and colors of skin. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. How Many Treatments do I Need and How Often can Medical Micro MesoPLUS Procedures may be Repeated? MesoPLUS can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to start with 3 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments required will depend on how each individual responds to the treatments, and the condition of the skin prior to treatment. Mesotherapy can be used on all skin parts of the body(neck, décolleté, arms, legs, etc). Most people will begin to see results after the very first treatment.
  • Are there any risks of post-operation infections?
Since the tiny pricking channels close within one hour, and the provided procedure is done under controlled clinical conditions, post-operation infections are extremely unlikely.
  • What Should I Avoid Contacting my Skin After Treatment?
To ensure the right healing environment, for the next 2 to 3 days after the treatment do not apply the following to the treated skin; any AHA’s (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or “active” ingredients. Exposure to sun should also be avoided, unless zinc based sunblock is used.
  • Am I a Candidate for the Medical Micro- Needling?
MesoPLUS can be safely performed on all types of skins and colors. Due to the fact that this procedure leaves the epidermis and the melanocytes in the basal area intact, there is minimal risk of pigment change or post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. Skin Mesotherapy can treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures. These areas include eyes, neck and the back of the hands. However, MesoPLUS is not suitable for patients who: • Have a used Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last three months. • Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions on the skin. • Have had radiation treatment to the skin within the last year. • Have any kind of current skin infection, condition, herpes simplex in the area desired to be treated. • Are pregnant or breast feeding. • Have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing.
  • SPMU - Aftercare
Each client’s skin responds differently to these treatments. This information acts as a guideline only. How to care for your new SPMU We recommend washing the tattooed area GENTLY once a day with lukewarm salt water or saline and a disposable paper towel or gauze. Pat it dry very gently and keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Do not apply any cosmetics in this area for AT LEAST 10-14 days. Just keep the area clean and let it breathe! If your skin starts to feel tight and dry around the third or fourth day, you may then use a SMALL amount of plain, fragrance- free lotion or moisturiser, or the product provided by iBeautify. If you DO need to moisturise, please do so sparingly. What to expect: Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder incolour and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but thereshould be minimal discomfort. During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. The complete healing process takes about 6-8 weeks, at which time the true colour of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much colour has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true colour, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done.

  • Radio Frequency Microneedling Aftercare
Before Treatment All make up will need to be removed prior to treatment, so please come ‘fresh faced’ if possible. Alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen and a range of dietary supplements may all contribute to bruising and are best avoided for 5 days before treatment. Treatment cannot be administered if there is an active skin infection, including acne (stage 3 or 4) or cold sores or if you are unwell- including colds, coughs, sore throats etc. Do contact the clinic to discuss any illness or new medicines prior to attending. Aftercare Advice Immediately after treatment your skin will be pink. Degrees vary from one individual to another, from pale pink blush to beetroot red. Any redness is expected to resolve steadily over hours, sometimes it may take 3 or 4 days to return to normal colour. make-up, can be worn the next day. If redness worsens, or itching occurs in the first few hours after treatment, cold compresses, or an anti-histamine tablet will help to resolve any discomfort. Use only the recommended products until skin colour returns to normal, then usual skin care may be resumed. The use of a serum is recommended to support healthy skin repair and boost. SPF 30 should be worn daily during the course of the treatment. You are advised to avoid alcohol, vigorous exercise, and extremes of heat or cold for 48 hours post treatment. These activities have been found to increase and prolong redness and swelling. Do not use any retinoids, tretinoids, alpha or beta hydroxy products, vitamin C products, scrub, exfoliate, or have chemical peels performed on the treated areas for 2 weeks Do not use hair dyes for a week following treatment. • Aqualyx Post Treatment Care
If painful immediately after treatment please do not use any pain relief OTHER than paracetamol. 2x 500mg is the maximum dosage. No ibuprofen!!! Pressure garments must be worn for 2-3 days after your treatment if your practitioner has advised them. In less common cases dizziness can occur for about 2 hours after the procedure. If this occurs please do not panic, drink plenty of water and rest. Notify your practitioner if this does not subside. Do not apply any kind of cosmetics onto the treated area within the first 12 hours following treatment. Avoid immediate exposure to heat sources for 7 day Is there any downtime and how long is recovery in the face / chin area? Following treatment in the face, there may be swelling and discomfort around the treated area that might be slightly uneven. This will last for around 3-5 days and subside dramatically. Once the initial swollen phase is over, there will possibly be small lumps and bumps which are bruises under then skin. This may take a couple of weeks to resolve. These are not usually visible or only slightly visible. The face requires only a small amount of solution so the side effects are minimal. Is there any downtime and how long is recovery in the body? Recovery after treatment can last longer than in the face. The technique is more aggressive for the body and you may experience uncomfortable swelling for a number of days after the treatment. We recommend you wear compression bandages immediately after treatment to assist the healing process. The swelling will subside after a few days. Some bruising is likely in and around the treated area. Topical arnica is recommended to aid the healing process. It is recommended to avoid alcohol, ibuprofen and excessive exercise or caffeine for the next two weeks. Any bruising can be covered using camouflage makeup if required. Generally, patients tolerate the procedure extremely well and frequently say that the downtime was welcomed because they are looking forward to their results.
  • HIFU Aftercare
Before Treatment Your current prescribed medicines will be discussed with you. Especially any that slow your blood clotting, as bruising is possible. Over the counter medications like aspirin/ other anti-inflammatories and fish oil supplements may also exacerbate bruising and should be discontinued 10 days in advance. How Long will it Last and when will I see results? This really does depend on the individual and the area being treated. Changes happen over a number of weeks so some patience is required as a natural collagen building process is taking place within your skin. Some patients feel tightness and a smoother appearance over the forthcoming days, results are expected to be seen between 12-16 weeks post treatment however it can take up to 9 months to see the full effects from a single HIFU treatment. If you are not already using medical grade skincare, you may want to discuss this with your Aesthetic Practitioner. Medical skincare combined with treatments like HIFU can maximise the results you obtain and help to maintain the results. We recommend all clients start skincare as the foundation to all treatments. Aftercare Advice Immediately after the treatment, the treated area may look slightly pink and tingly. Rarely some spots of bruising may be already visible, but typically bruising is not evident until 2-5 days after the session. Bruising and tenderness is a common temporary side effect. It is normal for the area to be swollen and feel stiff immediately after the treatment. Temporary dulling of sensation or numbness in the treated area can occur. If the forehead was treated, you may have a mild headache or hair pulling sensation in your scalp following the treatment. This should last no longer than 24 hours. How is BB Glow done? The procedure is safely done using a Microneedling Pen with a single-use sterile needle head. The device offers adjustable depth, speed, and needle size control. A session usually takes 2 hours, in which serums and/ or pigments will be applied to stimulate the rejuvenation process along with a facial hydrating mask at the end. Although these symptoms may take 1 to 2 days to resolve completely, they will diminish significantly within a few hours after the treatment. Are there any complications and risks associated to Microneedling? Yes, you might experience scarring, pain, persistent redness, itching and/ or swelling, allergic reaction. Although Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure, there is a risk of infection. It is your responsibility to fully and accurately disclose all medical history prior to any treatment. It is important that your expectations be realistic, and you understand that the procedure has its limitations. Additional procedures may be necessary to achieve your desired effects. Unsatisfactory Results Although rare, there is a possibility Microneedling may induce undesirable results, including but not limited to skin sloughing, scarring, permanent pigment change, and/or other undesirable skin changes. Pigment/color change (hyperpigmentation) is very rare, but could happen due to failure to follow post treatment instructions such as avoid sun exposure for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment, apply daily SPF facial moisturizer, and avoid picking or peeling skin during healing period. A normal skin care regimen may be resumed after peeling process is complete. ** Not every patient notices visible peeling. Lack of peeling is NOT an indication that the peel did not work. • Aftercare
Your extensions are 100% human hair, but that doesn’t mean that they require the same treatment as your own. What many clients tend to forget is that although the hair is semipermanently attached to your own hair, the hair is still false and requires its own special after-care. Below is a list of do’s, don’ts and products that are recommended for you to use. Many of these products can be found in your local store e.g. Boots. If you do have any questions or concerns in regards to your extensions that may need specialist products or care, please contact the your technician immediately.
  • Looking after your extensions
Once your extensions have been placed in your hair, do allow up to 48hrs, or in some cases if the client is hyper sensitive, even a week for your hair and scalp to adjust to the new found weight. If after this time you are still having some discomfort, it could be that you are overly sensitive on your scalp area and so it’s best that you address this. You could require some length taken off, weight taken out of them or in extreme cases, your extensions may need to be removed (This is very rare). Leave it at least 48hrs after a new set to wash them and for those who may be on to your second set, this will feel thinner than your last set. Try not to wash the hair anymore than once a week. This is GOOD for your own hairs condition too. When brushing your hair, do take care and try to separate and hold the hair, brushing from the bottom and working your way to the root to remove any knots. Always brush styling products out of extensions before washing the hair. When sleeping, try to leave hair in a loose, low ponytail or plait. This will help to stop matting and knotting from movement in bed. When shampooing and conditioning hair, try to only wash the extensions once a week. Wash in an upright position, e.g. in the shower. Once clean; towel dry, squeeze out excess water and pat dry. DO NOT RUB THE HAIR TOGETHER! PLEASE ALWAYS use a styling serum, oil or cream before drying. NEVER sleep or do anything without at least drying the ROOTS of your extensions first. Ideally, hair should not be wet when sleeping. Never remove any extensions by picking or applying heat. Remember, the average person loses between 150-300 natural hairs a day, some more than this! This is why it’s important to make sure you separate your hair by brushing and using your fingers when washing so that any lose hairs can come away and prevent matting. Please do not panic when the extensions start to fall out and you see ‘tufts’ of your own hair attached to the bond. In the space of 20 weeks this could happen a lot or not at all, but if you do feel you are losing excess hair or your scalp is sore/irritable, please contact us immediately. If you experience any of these symptoms within 72hrs of installation, again, please contact us
  • Colouring Roots
Do not use home box dyes. We cannot guarantee how these will affect the condition of your extensions, and the manufacturers guarantee will be invalidated. If you’re having foils or bleach, we recommend you have your hair line and T-section done. Toning, Darkening or Semi-Permanents must be conducted by a trained professional. Do not use a peroxide level higher than 6%. How long can I wear them for? Do not wear your extensions for any longer than 3 months (up to 12 weeks). We do offer a maintenance appointment at 4-6 weeks if you require it. During the Winter months, you may find extensions become dry, static and tangle a little, especially if you have blonde hair. This is perfectly normal, but please feel free to contact us should you have any concerns.
  • For those of you going on holiday abroad
Try to keep your extensions dry and out of the sun by wearing a hat etc. When swimming either in the sea or in a pool, always put or run through leave-in or normal conditioner. This will help to act as a barrier from the sea water or chlorine. Always shampoo and condition your hair after swimming or visiting a beach. Do not use Moroccan Oil! Moroccan Oil contains linseed oil which in the sun can turn blonde or light hair orange. Unfortunately, due to climate and the use of different chemicals, travelling abroad will invalidate your guarantee.
  • Product List DO NOT USE
TIGI Range, Treseme, Head & Shoulders, Vosene, Herbal Essence, Fructis or any STRONG dandruff shampoos. These contain certain acids/sulphates and detergents that disintegrate the bond and leave it sticky like chewing gum, thus matting your own hair. If this happens please contact us.
  • Is HIFU more effective than botox?
HIFU lifts the skin and tightens it by stimulating the body's natural repair process, and is partially effective in treating fine wrinkles. Those with deeper dramatic lines can benefit from anti-wrinkle injections. These treatments work in completely different ways.

Avoid sun exposure (apply sunscreen daily and do not tan at all – including self-tanner) for 4 to 6 weeks before and after treatments. Do not use any retinol products or exfoliants on the area to be treated for one week. Avoid Accutane for 6 months prior. Let us know if you have a history of hyperpigmentation. If you have a history of fever blisters, notify us. We will write you a prescription for a prophylactic antiviral therapy to start on the day of the treatment to prevent a flare up of cold sores. You must notify us if you have had any cosmetic tattooing on or near the area to be treated. Photosensitizing medications including doxycycline and minocycline should be discontinued three days prior to the treatment. Anticipate a social “down-time” of 2-5 days before any redness, swelling and sloughing of the sunspots has subsided.
  • On the day of your appointment
Come to your appointment with a clean face- remove all makeup if area to be treated is the face. If applicable, dress so that you may modestly expose the treatment area.
  • Post Treatment Instructions
You may have a mild sunburn (burning) sensation following the treatment that is usually gone within a few hours. Skin redness is normal and may last a few days. There may be a slight amount of swelling. Crusting or blistering is uncommon and not serious. Pigmented areas may begin to flake after a few days. Cold compresses may be useful for the first 24 hours. Your skin will be fragile for 2-3 days. Use gentle cleansers (we recommend Epionce Gentle Foaming Cleanser), do not rub the skin and avoid hot water during this time. Do not use any retinoids, tretinoins, alpha or beta hydroxy products, vitamin C products, scrub, exfoliate, or have chemical peels performed on the areas treated area for one week. We recommend Epionce Medical Barrier Cream moisturizer. Makeup can be applied immediately (if the skin is not broken) we recommend mineral based makeup Avoid the sun and use sun block. Avoid excessive heat or friction to the treated area (heavy exercise, saunas). Sun spots and age spots will DARKEN with the IPL treatments BEOFRE they begin to respond and resolve. This is expected and a normal part of the IPL process. Do not pick these spots once they become dry. They will lift and fall off on their own. Please contact us as soon as possible if you experience any blistering or increase pain.
  • Pre-Treatment
During treatment, you can expect 20 minutes to relax or do absolutely nothing. The Lightwave treatment is a completely comfortable experience. The Lightwave rejuvenation offers advanced cosmetic rejuvenation utilising Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology with a low level power output. This treatment utilises a blue/red/combo light therapy to effectively treat the area of concern. The treatment can be administered immediately pre/post a laser treatment or injection. For optimal results, it is recommended that you come in every 3-4 days, approximately 2 times a week. A longer time gaps does NOT render the results less effective. The Lightwave rejuvenation is effective for cosmetic enhancement of the face and body to improve the appearance of stretch marks, cellulite, superficial wrinkles, reduce acne, regain hydration levels, better tone and stimulate collagen and elastin. The Lightwave technology significantly enhances all other anti-aging treatments. As with any skin rejuvenation program, you should consult your healthcare professional for more details on how Lightwave Rejuvenation will beautify your face and body.
  • Post Treatment
After completion of your treatment if is normal for most patients to experience some degree of discomfort which can include redness, and flaking or peeling of the skin. These symptoms may worsen within 24 hours following the activation period. After the series or one treatment, you can resume your normal activities immediately with absolutely no downtime or discomfort. It is important for patient to allow the skin to heal naturally and do not exfoliate or pick at the skin during this time as doing so can lead to infection and scarring. It is important that you commit to and follow the treatment protocol: Use SPF 30, avoid exposure to sunlight and excessive bright lights for 48 hours.
  • Aftercare
The following aftercare advice is essential to help reduce the risk of treatment complications, to improve your comfort/healing and to help achieve the best possible results from treatment. Please follow the aftercare advice for lidocaine injection/ dental block. You may experience some mild tenderness and swelling around the injection site. These effects will usually resolve within 48 hours. You may experience some bruising around the injection site, this will resolve naturally but may occasionally take 1-2 weeks to resolve. You may feel numb for 2-3 hours after the injection. Avoid any hot drinks until the numbness has worn off because if the lip is numb you may not feel a scald or burn. Eat a soft diet until the numbness has worn off. You can clean your teeth as normal and follow your usual mouth care routine. If you experience any discomfort after the numbness has worn off, you can take a simple over the counter painkiller such as paracetamol. You must seek medical attention and contact your practitioner if you develop any signs or symptoms of infection around the injection site. Infection can present as hot, red shiny tissue, there may be pus formation and you may have a fever or feel generally unwell. This is a rare complication following lidocaine injection. • You must contact your practitioner as soon as possible if you experience any other unwanted side effects after having the injection. • Seek medical attention if you feel unwell or experience any significant side effects following the injection. • Seek emergency medical attention in the rare event that you experience any severe allergy signs or features of anaphylaxis after the injection. These may include rash, facial swelling and breathing difficulties. It is essential that you have read all of the information available. Once you have read and understood all of the below, please sign the declaration at the bottom of this form. Please do let your practitioner know if you have any questions or if you do not understand any of the aftercare instructions provided below. I confirm that I have read and understood all the information on this Form and that I have been given the opportunity to ask any questions that have come to mind throughout.
  • Is it painful?
No, the needles are plastic and are less invasive than other skin needling techniques
  • What skin care routine do you recommend afterwards?
The beauty of these products is that you don’t have to buy an expensive skin care range after the treatment. Carry on using your usual skincare as long as it contains an spf of at least 30.
  • Why is MesoME better than derma rolling?
ME is less invasive; we do not need to use numbing creams on the skin which means the products are able to work better. The contoured needle head means you can be more specific in your treatments and target finer areas. You can go right around the under eye area.
  • How will I look at the end of the treatment?
There is very little downtime with this treatment. You may look slightly red immediately after but this will quickly subside. The skin starts healing immediately and you should notice a difference within 2 treatments. If you have worked a little more on wrinkles or small scars these may take a day to subside. You may experience some peeling and this is very normal. It is the dehydrated skin leaving the stratum corneum
  • What aftercare solutions do I use?
There is an aftercare treatment included in the treatment package. Clients can use any product but will benefit more from the treatment if they use one with hyaluronic acid. Mineral make up is a great solution to camouflage any slight redness immediately post treatment.
  • How far apart are the treatments?
For the first 4 weeks it is recommended that the treatment is once every 5 to 7 days. Afterwards it should be carried out every month to maintain optimal results
  • How soon after Botox and Fillers can I have MesoME treatments?
With botox it is best to leave at least 2 weeks after a Botox treatment before starting a Meso ME. With fillers it is best to leave at least 21 days before the fillers have settled
  • Microsclerotherapy
Aftercare is: Support stocking or bandage following treatment and walking for 10-30 minutes Maintain normal activities Walk at least one hour a day Avoid hot baths for 2 weeks. Cool your legs with cold water after each shower Wear support stockings for 2 weeks following treatment Avoid strenuous physical activity Avoid salty food and drink and drink plenty of water for 2-3 days. Reduce alcohol and caffeine intake for 2-3 days
  • Before the Treatment
We recommend you avoid sun-tanning, spray-tanning, tanning injections and sun beds for 4 to 6 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, we recommend using SPF30+ to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darkerskinned. Avoid any other type of procedures for 3-4 weeks on the same area which you intend to have treated, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, Botox/fillers, as this may prevent your treatment from being performed. Discontinue any use of topical Retin-A products a minimum of 4 days prior to treatment. Remove contact lenses and any eyelash extensions prior to treatment if working on the eye area. We recommend taking a high dose of Vitamin C supplements along with Magnesium Citrate, Zinc, and Copper 2 weeks before treatment and 12 weeks over the course of the healing process as this will help give your immune system a big boost. In turn, this helps you to repair and helps avoid hyperpigmentation. Set up an area in your bathroom that is clean to apply aftercare products to your skin that were provided. You may want to use eye drops if the eyes feel irritated. If doing so, tip your face so that the eye drop comes out by the nose, use a tissue to gently blot in order to avoid getting the area treated wet.
  • Immediately Following Your Treatment
Once the scabs come off, you absolutely MUST now begin to apply the Zinc SPF 50 while your skin is in the healing stages (pink in color) and you should continue to use at least a SPF 30 for at least the next 12 weeks (and ideally longer). The area(s) treated have produced brand new skin and may burn and/or pigment without adequate protection from the sun. Even just 5 minutes of sun exposure, cloudy days or sunlight coming in the windows can cause a risk of pigmentation on new healing skin so keep Zinc SPF 50 on at all times while We recommend NOT exercising straight after treatment because any heat, steam, or sweat could add to the inflammation already present. Ideally, you want to avoid excessive sweating for 5-7 days during the healing process. We recommend you do not wear makeup in the area treated during the 5-7 day healing process because the application and/or removal of makeup could prematurely disrupt the scabs before they are ready to flake off. Do NOT wash or get water over the treated areas until the scabs are off. Use the Gentle Cleanser provided to clean areas of the face or neck not treated UNTIL the scabs come off. This is considered a “dry heal”. If the area becomes wet while showering, gently blot dry. Stay away from heat & steam for the next 2 weeks while the skin may be pink and very sensitive. Swelling and inflammation for 1 to 5 days post-treatment is normal. If swelling lasts beyond 5 days, contact your treatment provider. Do NOT take any anti-inflammatory medicine, allergy medicine, Advil or ibuprofen for 2 weeks after your treatment. Tylenol is acceptable if needed. Use ONLY fragrance-free detergent and fabric softener on bedding post-treatment. NO dryer sheets of any kind. After treating areas of the face, we recommend you sleep on your back with your head elevated to minimise swelling . If you have received treatment to your eye area, then it is important you sleep slightly elevated for up to 7 days as this can greatly reduce swelling. If you don’t sleep on your back, change your pillowcase every day or every other day for 1 week post-treatment. It’s important to keep chemicals and oils from hair away from the area treated while keeping the skin as clean as possible Keep your hair pulled back to keep off treated area while healing. We recommend that you do NOT apply cold packs or ice packs during the swelling period. Icing will diminish the outcome and inhibit the inflammation process that we want to happen naturally. Applying cold or ice packs on the skin could interfere with the mechanism of action performed by the device and the skin’s natural heat and healing process to achieve the desired result. Swelling is a minor inconvenience to achieve the desired outcome. You may experience a “stinging” sensation in the treated area(s) immediately after treatment and up to 24 hours after treatment. This is normal and is simply the heat exiting the skin. It generally only lasts for about an hour or so. The hot feeling on the area treated can be felt up to 24 hours post-treatment, this is normal. It is highly unlikely you will ever get an infection from a Plasma Pen treatment as the wound we cause is not open. However, the first 12 hours post-treatment is of vital importance in protecting you from any kind of potential infection so please avoid any activities where you could expose yourself to contaminants, meaning going to the gym, public places where you can pick up germs by touching things then touching your skin.
  • In the Following Days After Your Treatment
It is normal for the area that has been treated to feel tight and dry. Occasional weeping will settle, tiny crusts will quickly form on the treated area. These may be visible for up to about a week. The crusts/ scabs will become darker before they fall off. Do NOT pick crusts off as this will delay the healing process and could cause scarring. If washing your hair after treating areas on the face, we advise you do NOT stand with your face under a hot shower or direct water from the shower head for the first 7 days. This could increase swelling. Try to avoid shower gels or hair products running on to your face as this could cause irritation. If water does get on the area treated, blot very gently with a clean cloth or towel. Shaving in the area treated should be avoided until it is fully healed. If you have had treatment around your eyes, you should avoid wearing contact lenses for 72 hours after your treatment. When the crusts have fallen off then your skin may be a little pink as it is fresh, new and rejuvenated baby skin. This pinkness will fade over time in as little as 2 weeks up to a few months. In rare cases it may take up to 6 months.
  • Other Important Aftercare Recommendations
Avoid smoking and alcohol for at least 24 hours. Taking Vitamin C supplements over the course of your healing process can give your immune system a big boost and help you to repair. Any additional treatments that may be required must only be performed once the skin is completely healed and has returned to its normal colour. This usually takes about 12 weeks. Use of topical Retain A products should be avoided for 4 weeks. Fibroblast treatment is the gift that keeps giving and, on top of the immediate rejuvenation, lifting and tightening affects you will likely experience, it can take 8 to 12 weeks for the full effects of your treatment to be seen. You may not actually require further treatment once the effects of your original treatment are more determinable. Please note that if you do require a longer period of time between treatments then the delay will not alter the outcome/results.
  • Recovery
Once the procedure is completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1 week. Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmer. Downtime may include: Redness, swelling and scabbing in the treatment area Average of 8 days downtime on the face and neck areas Average of 10 to 14 days on the body, depending on the area being treated and the intensity of the treatment Swelling usually begins the day following your treatment, and peaks around day 3 After day 3, swelling subsides and scabs form. Tiny red dot scabs will form and normally begin to fall off around day 6 and 7 (for face and neck) Please be aware that the days indicated are simply guidelines for average healing time. Healing time and results may be negatively compromised by not following the aftercare guidelines. If your health is compromised in any way, this can also extend your healing time and negatively affect your results.
  • What is Semi Permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent make-up, also known as micropigmentation, is a form of temporary cosmetic tattooing which allows you to have long-lasting eyeliner and lip colour as well as being able to shape and contour your eyebrows. The procedure involves tiny particles of pigment being placed beneath the surface of the skin, much like a tattoo. This pigment will stay in the skin for a number of years, gradually breaking down and fading with time, although the longevity of the results will depend on your age and skin type. Also sometimes referred to as: semi permanent eyebrows, semi permanent makeup, semi permanent eyeliner, semi paermanent makeup lips, semi permanent eyebrow tattoo. Learn more about our semi permanent makeup services.
  • Terms and conditions Semi - Permanent makeup
SPMU Policies Semi-Permanent Make Up is a process that may require more than the two procedures to achieve the desired result. Further applications will be chargeable at the discretion of The Beauty Studio IOM. If a stronger look / colour is required through personal preference this will be chargeable. (Any change from the initial agreement) It is extremely important that you adhere to your Aftercare Instructions to ensure that you are not vulnerable to infection once you have left the environment of the clinic. If a treated area is picked, pulled or accidentally knocked, not only is it more susceptible to infection it may also affect the healed result and the pigment could migrate outside of the treated area and therefore appear uneven and require more work, for which there will be an extra charge. iBeautify will describe the benefits and risks of your proposed treatment and record your consultation on a form. This form will be used for reference and referred to on subsequent visits. All forms must be signed by both the client and the practitioner in order to proceed. iBeautify reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. iBeautify will discuss what the procedure is likely to involve and about subsequent treatments. You will be given After Care Information verbally and you will be furnished with a hard copy to take home. Additionally, you will be sent an email of the same. Single applications are not available for any new treatments. Appointments not taken within 8 weeks will be chargeable. Further applications will be fully charged. SPMU is an art process, not an exact science, and cannot guarantee you an exact colour result, as colours heal differently in all individuals. The elected colour will be darker immediately after the treatment. This darker colour should exfoliate and lighten up to at least 50%-60% within 7/14 days. Lighter colours fade faster than darker colours, and all colours will change with time. You may need to return for additional treatments before your procedure is deemed complete. The payment for additional work - if applicable will be agreed prior to any work commencing. Additional work cannot be carried out for 4 - 8 weeks, to allow the area to heal fully. Colour will continue to change up to a period of 13 weeks. Can I expect to have perfect hair strokes? All SPMU results vary from person to person. -Clients with oily skin and open pores, the results will appear softer/solid or powdered looking. -Clients with Fitzpatrick skin type 3-6, the hair strokes will not be as visible as on lighter skin types. Semi-permanent makeup results can be unsuccessful on some skin types. This included clients with large pores and oily skin. In some cases, an additional 3rd top up treatment may be required at an additional cost. With that in mind, it is strongly inadvisable to tattoo an area more than 3 times within the period of a year. I can never guarantee results but I always use my best judgments to obtain the best results possible. We cannot guarantee a successful result on 100% of our clients especially those with problem skin and do not offer refunds as we have carried out the treatment at a cost to us. A free touch-up treatment is included in the price and should be booked at least 4 weeks after but within 6 weeks of initial treatment. - The skin type of every client is different and colour should stay visible in the skin for several years (and in some cases indefinitely). The ingredient iron oxide in the pigment will be present permanently but will not necessarily be visible. A retouch procedure will be required periodically to keep the procedure looking fresh. This is dependent on age, skin type and chosen colour. - After each treatment the treated area will swell and distort. This should settle within 2 – 3 days following the treatment. Immediately following the treatment, a white hue will be visible or show redness and, in some cases, bruising, Cleo will recommend how to take care of this. You may experience some discomfort but she will reassure you throughout and will endeavour to make you feel comfortable. - Pigments are made from iron oxides and are not the same as tattoo inks and therefore compatibility is questionable. It is important to note that if you have an MRI or CAT scan you must tell the radiologist that you have had a medical tattoo. You may experience a slight tingling in the treated area. - Healed results will vary with each individual client and using a pencil or powder may still be needed. We have no control over what occurs during the healing process. Absolutely NO guarantee will be made and additional sessions (at additional cost) may be required to obtain optimal results. **PLEASE NOTE: If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed and are interested in a cover-up/re-work, you MUST email Ara a clear photo PRIOR to booking your consultation appointment. We cannot guarantee results for cases such as these and we must approve that your eyebrows are workable. In some cases where the previous work is too dark, dense, discoloured, or large, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before we begin the cover- up/re-work. Previously tattooed areas and cover- ups will almost always require additional touch-ups for best results and will be charged accordingly. Although we give our best efforts to provide you with quality service, many factors can result in a less than desired outcome, as each client will heal differently.
