Profhilo vs Profhilo Structura: What’s the Difference and Which Is Right for You?

23 October 2026 · Cleo Campbell-White · iBeautify, Royal Tunbridge Wells

Discover how Profhilo and Profhilo Structura differ, what each is designed to address and how a consultation at iBeautify Aesthetics in Royal Tunbridge Wells can help you explore your options.

Have you noticed that your skin does not feel quite as firm as it used to? Perhaps your cheeks look flatter, your jawline is losing definition, or your skin feels thinner, less hydrated and less radiant.

Facial ageing affects more than the skin. Changes can also occur in underlying fat compartments, supporting tissues and facial structure. At iBeautify Aesthetics in Royal Tunbridge Wells, we offer both Profhilo and Profhilo Structura, which are designed to address different aspects of facial ageing.

This guide explains the differences. It is general information, not a diagnosis or recommendation for an individual treatment.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which are generally used to replace volume or enhance specific facial features, Profhilo is designed to spread through treated tissue and support skin remodelling.

Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body and plays an important role in skin hydration. Changes in skin composition and structure over time can contribute to dryness, reduced elasticity and fine lines. Profhilo may be considered when the main aim is improved skin quality rather than a significant change to facial shape.

Potential benefits may include:

  • Improved skin hydration and elasticity
  • Smoother-looking skin and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines
  • Improvement in crepey-looking skin and overall radiance

Who might Profhilo suit?

Profhilo may be considered when concerns include:

  • Dehydrated or dull-looking skin
  • Fine lines or crepey skin texture
  • Early skin laxity or reduced elasticity

The aim is to improve the appearance and quality of the skin, rather than create significant facial volume. Suitability depends on an individual assessment.

What is Profhilo Structura?

Profhilo Structura is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment developed to address age-related changes in superficial facial fat compartments. With age, these compartments can change in volume, distribution and position, contributing to flattening of the cheeks, facial hollowing, reduced definition or a tired-looking appearance.

Structura is designed to support superficial facial tissues, particularly around the cheek area. It addresses a different aspect of facial ageing from traditional Profhilo and is not primarily intended to sculpt or dramatically reshape the face.

For selected patients, potential aims may include:

  • Improving the appearance of age-related facial hollowing
  • Supporting natural-looking facial contours and tissue support
  • Subtly refreshing the appearance of mild facial sagging

It cannot reverse every cause of facial ageing, and individual results vary.

Recommended course: Two treatments, approximately four weeks apart. View Profhilo Structura on our treatment list.

Profhilo vs Profhilo Structura: the main differences

The simplest distinction is that Profhilo focuses primarily on skin quality, while Profhilo Structura focuses on age-related changes in superficial facial tissues. Neither treatment is a surgical facelift, and neither can guarantee correction of significant skin laxity or facial volume loss.

Profhilo

Primary focus: Skin quality and hydration.

Concerns: Fine lines, dehydration, reduced elasticity and crepey-looking skin.

Aim: Improve the appearance of hydration, elasticity and overall skin quality.

Profhilo Structura

Primary focus: Age-related changes in superficial facial fat compartments.

Concerns: Flattened cheeks, facial hollowing and certain changes in facial contours.

Aim: Support the appearance of facial tissues and age-related contour changes.

Can you have Profhilo and Profhilo Structura together?

They may be considered as part of a personalised plan because they address different aspects of facial ageing. For example, a person concerned about both dehydrated skin and facial contour changes may benefit from having both options assessed.

Combining treatments is not automatically necessary or suitable for everyone. At iBeautify, recommendations begin with an individual assessment rather than a standard plan for every client.

How many treatments might I need?

Both treatments may be given as an initial course, with appointments commonly spaced around four weeks apart depending on the product protocol and individual assessment. The number of appointments and any maintenance interval depend on your needs and response. Results are temporary and develop over time.

Is Profhilo Structura better than dermal fillers?

Not necessarily. Dermal fillers and Profhilo Structura have different purposes. Fillers can provide targeted volume replacement, contouring and facial enhancement. Structura is designed to address age-related changes in superficial facial fat compartments.

The most appropriate option depends on your facial anatomy, the extent of volume change and your desired outcome. One treatment is not automatically better than the other.

Can Profhilo help with sagging jowls?

Mild skin laxity may improve in appearance after an appropriate skin remodelling treatment, but jowling can have several causes, including changes in skin elasticity, facial fat compartments and underlying support. Profhilo alone is unlikely to correct significant jowling.

Profhilo Structura may be considered for selected people with age-related changes in facial tissue support, but it is not a guaranteed solution. Depending on your skin and anatomy, HIFU or RF microneedling may also be discussed.

Are Profhilo and Profhilo Structura safe?

Both are injectable treatments and carry potential risks. Common temporary effects may include redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness or temporary injection-site lumps. Less common but potentially serious complications include infection, allergic reactions and vascular injury.

Not everyone is suitable for treatment. A thorough consultation, appropriate treatment technique, aftercare and informed consent are essential. Your practitioner should discuss relevant risks and precautions before you decide.

How long does Profhilo last?
